Rebranding... 4 days in?

So… it’s only been four days since I started this blog and I’m already rethinking my whole plan – what a disaster!
Four days ago, I was in a great mindset. It was the weekend, I had spent the two days setting up a funky, modern looking website and thought of a few interesting ideas for blogs that I could post around my year abroad, books I’m reading over lockdown, small crafts and the occasional Disney post. Well, a few things have changed since then, and now I’m rethinking everything:
1. I made an Instagram for my blog (link at the very bottom of this page)
I was quite scared, albeit excited, to make an Instagram and gain a following for my blog. Like I said in my previous post, I wasn’t sure if anyone would even be interested in me, let alone my blog posts and wanting to read them. I didn’t think anyone would follow along on my journeys, to be honest.
I posted my first picture… a Walt Disneyworld castle pic, of course. It gained so much love from the Disney community, and I was overwhelmed with the amount of messages, likes and story reposts I received from such a lovely group of people on Instagram. Four days in and I am almost at 200 followers (thank you so much to every one of you!) and a lot of this is due to Disney followers.

Being honest, I couldn’t imagine posting anything other than Disney pictures now, and seeing all of the Disney accounts I follow post pictures of their trips and merchandise just makes me want to go back ASAP!
2. I was appointed Lifestyle Editor of a new student magazine
I have always yearned for a career in writing, whether that’s as a journalist, an editor, in social media, creative writing, PR - you name it, I love it! Being a student, though, with a minimal amount of previous work in the industry, it has been so SO unbelievably hard to get noticed by employers or receive quality work experience in writing, no matter the sector.
So, I am a part of a few university student groups on Facebook, and a collective of students were taking on applications for a new magazine. I tried my luck, not thinking it would come to much, but made sure to try my hardest and be as creative as possible in my application. After nervously waiting for a week, I was appointed the role that I was hoping for! I am so excited to start pushing out material for the magazine in August and, even with rebranding, it allows me to post the content that I was originally hoping to post here, just through a different platform.
I’ll share the link on here when it has been published so you can all read those posts too, if you’re interested!
3. One of my best friends who was also going on study abroad years has pulled out
My best friend was set to go to Spain and Italy for their next academic year. Due to the current second wave of the Coronavirus in Spain, and some countries in Europe looking to follow suit, they decided to no longer go ahead with their year abroad, and finish university this year instead.
This was a huge spanner in the works for me as, not only was I really excited to do some small (safe) trips with them over the next year, but we were also all going to live together in our fourth year of university. I completely understand why they pulled out, but I just had to think quickly what I wanted to do, now not having anyone in Europe to lean on, but also no housemate for fourth year, as all of my other friends will have graduated.
I found a few people from my university who are also going to Berlin, though, and we created a group chat. They are still planning to go, and so am I, along with a bit of travelling if it’s possible, but it is so stressful planning what will happen among the uncertainty of the current pandemic. To be honest, with this, alongside working 8-6 every day, I am pretty stressed out!
So, with all these things happening over the past four days, alongside working every day and not really having much free time to sit and plan out content, I have decided to have a partial rebrand and rethink of the content I push out. I am now going to write (and post on Instagram) a lot more about what I know and love best – Disney!
Of course, I am still going to write about my year abroad and lifestyle-type blogs on university and my travels - keeping you all updated! But, with everything going on, I feel like having more of a focus on Disney will bring a bit of magic into everyone’s lives!
As a bit of background, I have been going to Disneyworld my whole life. My family had a villa in Florida when I was growing up and we’d try to go on trips every year, and the magic has certainly stuck with us all, all of our lives. My brother now lives in California with an annual pass to Disneyland and visits all the time with his girlfriend! We have definitely had some very magical visits to see him, and I also went to the Disneyland Paris 25th anniversary celebrations in 2017 and fell in love. I definitely have to make a trip back sometime soon… maybe as part of my year abroad, if I can afford it!

From spirit jerseys, to pin trading, to jewellery, to Disney art – I love (and hoardingly collect) it all! I would love to share my tips and tricks and some of my favourites about Disney from a UK perspective. So, after all of that… I’m (semi) rebranding my blog!
Hopefully you will still follow along, and I have loved all of the continued support on Instagram – I hope you all stick around!
I would love to hear what YOU would like to see from my blog!
Feel free to message me on Instagram or leave me feedback on my site as to what you’d like to see me post next, or subscribe for updates when I post a blog!
So… watch this space!!
